Representatives of “Roscosmos” commented on the statements of the US authorities about the dangerous fragments that allegedly remained after the tests of anti-satellite weapons in Russia. The United States said that dangerous fragments pose a threat to the ISS.

“At the moment, the crew of the International Space Station is routinely performing work in accordance with the flight program. The orbital parameters of the station are in the so-called green zone. The rest of the issues are not within the competence of Roscosmos, “the state corporation noted.

Earlier, the US State Department accused Russia of testing anti-satellite weapons. The representative of the department stressed that the Russian tests threaten the safety of the ISS. The State Department noted that a missile strike on one of the satellites allegedly led to the appearance of dangerous fragments.

Later, the US Space Command issued a statement on testing Russian anti-satellite weapons. They indicated that a Russian rocket shot down the COSMOS 1408 satellite, which was launched into orbit in 1982.

On Tuesday, experts from the Mission Control Center near Moscow recommended that the ISS cosmonauts hide from space debris on the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft. Dangerous elements flew past the station. After that, the astronauts were allowed to return to the ISS.
