Vaccination against COVID-19 was conceived to be included in the vaccination calendar

Izvestia: a bill has been created to include vaccination against COVID-19 in the vaccination calendar

preventive vaccinations. The newspaper Izvestia writes about this with reference to the State Duma Committee on Health Protection.

The committee notes that the bill “On Amendments to Art. 9 of the Federal Law “On Immunization of Infectious Diseases” can be considered in the second and third readings before the end of the year.

If the bill is adopted, then for some categories of professions – in particular, for health workers, teachers and trade workers – vaccination from COVID-19 will become mandatory. However, for the rest of the population, vaccination will remain voluntary.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Health Protection Committee Alexei Kurinny noted that about 40 regions have already introduced compulsory vaccination for a number of categories of citizens, therefore, in fact, the norms of the bill are already in effect in Russia.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, a member of the LDPR faction Yaroslav Nilov stressed that the main task of the bill is to remove loopholes for employers' abuse and reassure citizens who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons.

On November 12, bills on QR codes in transport and in public places were also submitted to the State Duma. However, the document does not regulate the operation of public transport, pharmacies, grocery stores and outlets with essential goods.
