Russians living in the “regions of the Far North”. The deputy promised to keep these allowances, RIA Novosti reports.

Pivnenko promised to keep the northern allowances for the residents of the Far North, who previously received them. She stressed that “no one loses anything.”

“Nobody touches on the issues of elimination or some kind of correction in the issue of northern guarantees and compensations. The law on state guarantees and compensations continues to operate, all territories that have this status retain this status, ”the deputy explained.

The politician added that at the moment, when preparing a draft law on a three-year budget, the amount of payments is determined taking into account the current rates of payment of regional coefficients and percentage allowances.

“All state guarantees are preserved. Both related to pension provision and social security. With payment of the fare for non-working pensioners. Everything in full, “Pivnenko concluded.

Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled the decree of ex-head of state Boris Yeltsin of December 20, 1993, according to which some areas of Karelia were equated to living conditions in the Far North. The Republic of Komi, Buryatia and the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug were excluded from the list. The measures were taken as part of the changes in the Arctic Zone Development Strategy.
