Former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili is undergoing treatment and is feeling well, said the head physician of the prison hospital Manana Elefterova. Her words are quoted by TASS.

She said that the ex-president is under close medical supervision, undergoes laboratory tests and receives all prescribed medications. “His life is not in danger,” the press service of the special penitentiary service of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia specified.

At the same time, on Saturday, November 13, the girl, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yelizaveta Yasko, said that due to the hunger strike Saakashvili's condition has worsened so he cannot get out of bed. According to her, a reanimobile was driven to the prison where the politician is.

On November 8, the former president of Georgia was transferred from the prison in the city of Rustavi to a prison hospital in the Gldani district of Tbilisi. At the same time, his lawyers said that he was in danger, since there are dozens of prisoners in the Gldani prison, including those with mental disorders.

On October 1, Mikhail Saakashvili was detained by the security forces in Georgia, where he returned after eight years of emigration to participate in protests. At home, he was sentenced in absentia to six years in prison for the murder of a banker and the beating of a deputy. After being imprisoned, the politician went on a hunger strike.
