FSMTC Director Shugaev: Russia has begun deliveries of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems to India

Russia has begun supply of anti-aircraft missile systems -400 to India. This was stated by the director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugaev on the eve of the Dubai Airshow, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, the equipment is currently being supplied to India on schedule. Deliveries of Russian systems to India will be completed by April 2023. The contract for the supply of the complexes was signed on October 5, 2018 during the visit of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to New Delhi. The contract value exceeds $ 5 billion.

Earlier, Shugaev named the most popular Russian weapon among foreigners. According to him, Russian S-400 air defense systems, Pantsir-S1 missile and cannon systems, as well as the entire line of aviation equipment, Kornet anti-tank systems and Smerch MLRS are in the greatest demand among foreign customers. At the same time, Shugaev noted that at least 50 percent of Russian exports accounted for aviation equipment. He also added that the five largest foreign buyers of Russian military equipment include China, India, the Middle East and North Africa region, and Latin America.
