The incident took place on Tuesday, November 9, ten kilometers from the border area of ​​the reserve. Weapons, ammunition, 13 deer carcasses and one sable carcass were seized from them. During the interrogation, the hunters stated that they got lost because of the blizzard and did not know that they were in a protected area due to the lack of information notices.

Later, the Yakutsk Vecherniy portal, citing its own sources, published the names of the hunters – they were the chairman of the Nyurba district court Dmitry Ivanov, an employee of the FSB Arnold Gerasimov and a bailiff Grigory Ivanov. In addition to high-ranking officials, the company had a driver and a guide.

Earlier, on October 29, the police opened a criminal case under the article on illegal hunting in the Saratov region, in which State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin may be involved – in his They found the carcass of a dead elk, an ax and two knives. Article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal hunting”) provides for a penalty of up to 500 thousand rubles or in the amount of wages for a period of up to two years.
