Austria will introduce a lockdown for the unvaccinated from COVID-19

Chancellor Schallenberg: a lockdown will be introduced in Austria from November 15 for those unvaccinated from coronavirus coronavirus citizens. This was stated by Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenber, he is quoted by TASS.

“The fourth wave overtook us in full force. Today we decided that from tomorrow, from Monday, a lockdown for the unvaccinated will be in effect in Austria. This means a restriction on leaving home for people over 12 years old, “Schallenber said.

According to him, those unvaccinated against COVID-19 will only be able to leave the house to shops with groceries and essentials, and also to work and walk. From November 8, access to restaurants, bars, cafes and fitness centers, beauty salons and other public places will be allowed only for those who are vaccinated or have been ill with COVID-19.

The Chancellor explained that such measures had to be taken due to the wide distribution of the delta strain and low vaccination rates.

Earlier, a lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19 was introduced in the Netherlands. There, from November 13 to December 4, catering establishments, as well as stores with essential goods, will be closed at 20:00. The rest of the outlets will close at 18:00.
