NHK: The husband of the Japanese princess Mako Kei Komuro has settled a debt that postponed the wedding
who prevented the couple from getting married in November 2018 and postponed it until October 2021. This was reported by the NHK TV channel.
A commoner classmate of a girl from the imperial family was a participant in his mother's financial disputes with her former friend, who demanded to return him four million yen (about 35 thousand dollars), spent in particular on the young man's studies.
The TV channel notes that Komuro and the man in question met in Tokyo and agreed to stop the proceedings, in response the princess's husband had to pay him some funds, the amount of which is not disclosed. The agreement was concluded in writing. The financial sources through which he received the money are also not named.
Mako and Kei Komuro have known each other since 2012, but critics called the young man an unsuitable party for the heiress of the imperial family. After the wedding, the couple planned to first live in Tokyo, and then leave for the United States, where the groom has a job, but due to debt, the trip was also postponed.
The young people were married on October 26. From that moment, the princess left the imperial family, lost her allowance and bears the name Mako Komuro. The girl is now an ordinary citizen of Japan.
