Russian Railways assessed the impact of the introduction of QR codes on passenger traffic

Dmitry Pegov, Deputy Head of Russian Railways: the introduction of QR codes will have little effect on passenger traffic

Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Dmitry Pegov said that the introduction of QR codes on trains will have little effect on passenger traffic. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

Pegov noted that the final version of the bill is not yet ready, as the initiative must undergo additional discussions in the State Duma.

“But the version that I saw yesterday , I do not think that it will somehow strongly affect our passenger traffic, “the deputy head of Russian Railways assessed the impact of the bill.

Pegov expressed confidence that the company's passengers will comply with the requirements of the law and already have the appropriate medical documentation that must be presented when boarding the train. “Of course, we will help everyone and will make every effort to ensure that comfort remains at the same level,” the speaker added.

Earlier in November, the head of the Ministry of Transport of Russia Vitaly Savelyev said that the codes on planes and trains will not appear. Savelyev also noted that now the department is starting to work with airlines and Russian Railways and is working on a scheme for checking documents so as not to detain passengers when boarding a vehicle.
