Peter Stano: new EU sanctions against Belarus will affect airlines and travel agencies
New EU sanctions against Minsk will affect all those involved in the “dirty, inhuman and illegal business” of transporting migrants to the Belarusian borders with the EU. Peter Stano, the official representative of the EU foreign policy service, said this in a commentary to Lente.ru.
He also listed the main goals of the new restrictions: according to him, in addition to airlines, travel agencies and other intermediaries may fall under the sanctions. “Among the EU member states, work continues to change the existing sanctions regime against Belarus, taking into account the new threats posed by the Lukashenka regime, including the promotion of illegal migration,” Stano said.
