Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov: any answer will be interpreted as interference in internal affairs

At the end of his visit to Paris, he jokingly responded to statements about Moscow's interference in foreign affairs. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Thus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs commented on the fact that Russia is accused of interfering in the internal affairs of various countries, for example, in the upcoming presidential elections in France in 2022 or in a referendum on secession of the overseas territory republic, a special territorial-administrative entity of New Caledonia.

“Any answer I have will be used against me, will be interpreted as the very intervention in the internal affairs of France, Spain and other countries,” Lavrov emphasized.

Candidates for the presidency of France will be the leader of the National Unity party Marine Le Pen, the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, the national secretary of the Communist Party Fabienne Roussel, the leader of the Unruly France party Jean-Luc Melanchon. The current leader of the republic, Emmanuel Macron, has not yet officially announced his intention to run for a second presidential term.
