The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced preparations for scenarios taking place on the Polish-Belarusian border

“We are preparing for scenarios similar to those taking place today on the Polish-Belarusian border,” Monastyrski said.

The Interior Ministry said that Ukraine will double the number of border guards. “Also, quite serious reserves of the National Guard and the National Police will be involved (…) Mobile groups will function, move along the border to detect illegal border crossings,” – Interfax-Ukraine quotes Monastyrsky.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yevhen Yenin said on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel that about 8,500 servicemen would ensure the security of the borders.

In Belarus, groups of migrants from the Middle East have been trying to break through to Poland and Lithuania for the third day. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin called on the authorities of his country to obtain guarantees of assistance from the European Union in the event of an influx of refugees.
