On the initiative of Amelchenkova, an insignia for volunteers was established in the Leningrad region

The first awards will be presented on December 5, on the International Day of Volunteers A proposal to create a special insignia for volunteers was made by the leader of the “Victory Volunteers” movement, State Duma deputy Olga Amelchenkova (United Russia faction).

Olga Amelchenkova noted that at the moment there are more than 12,000 volunteers in the region, who regularly contribute to the development of the region. “Volunteers take care of veterans, provide assistance to people with limited mobility, actively participate in environmental projects, clean rivers and lakes. Especially for them, active and not indifferent to the problems of their region, this distinction was approved. Since last year, the state award “For Benevolence” has been awarded to volunteers by presidential decree, and it is fair that a similar distinction has also appeared at the regional level. Volunteers of the Leningrad Region deserve admiration and sincere words of gratitude, “said the leader of the” Victory Volunteers “movement.

According to a public figure, in order to receive a distinction, one must have experience of volunteering in the Leningrad Region from three to five years … Volunteers are also encouraged to have Russian state awards.

“Representatives of the non-profit sector, volunteer associations and civil society will be able to receive the distinction for their participation in socially significant events and projects and for their significant personal contribution to the development of volunteerism, preserving the traditions of mercy, implementing socially significant projects, and helping people free of charge,” added Olga Amelchenkova.
