In St. Petersburg, thieves of alcoholics' apartments were put on trial

Scammers in St. Petersburg stole apartments from victims of alcoholism in the amount of 15 million rubles

In St. the theft of real estate from people who abuse alcohol. The damage caused by the attackers was estimated at more than 15 million rubles, according to the website of the local prosecutor's office.

According to investigators, the accused left four Petersburgers homeless between 2012 and 2019. They chose owners who led an asocial lifestyle, suffered from alcoholism and could be subjected to suggestibility due to their physical condition. The attackers kidnapped homeowners and rewrote objects to one of the group members.

Law enforcement officers managed to detain the attackers. A criminal case was opened against them under Part 4 of Article 159 (“Fraud”), paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Article 163 (“Extortion”), paragraphs “a, c, h” of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Kidnapping” ). The case will be considered in the Kolpinsky District Court. The accused face up to 15 years in prison.

In February 2020, a gang of four fraudsters was caught in Bashkiria, who in 2018-2019 appropriated six other people's apartments worth more than 16.5 million rubles. Women chose real estate, the owners of which led an asocial lifestyle, did not have relatives or were in prison for a long time.
