Saakashvili insulted prison hospital staff

Head of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia Bregadze: Saakashvili insulted the staff of the prison hospital in Gldani on Monday, November 8, he was transferred to the prison hospital, physically and verbally abused the staff of the medical facility. This was stated by the Minister of Justice of Georgia Rati Bregadze, TASS reports.

According to the head of the Ministry of Justice, when Saakashvili was taken to the prison hospital in Gldani on the outskirts of Tbilisi, he “inflicted both physical and verbal abuse on our employees.” – said the minister in an interview with the Georgian TV channel “Imedi”.

Bregadze added that the incident is being studied by the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Justice, after which an appropriate decision will be made.

Earlier on Monday, Saakashvili's mother said that his they were taken from the prison in Rustavi by helicopter. After that, the Special Penitentiary Service said that the ex-president was transferred to a prison hospital in the Gldani district of Tbilisi “to avoid deteriorating health and due to the increased danger.” by decision of the Ministry of Health, the medical council concluded that the ex-president needs immediate hospitalization in a multidisciplinary clinic. Later, Metropolitan Nikoloz Pachuashvili said that Saakashvili confessed and received Holy Communion.

Mikhail Saakashvili was detained in Georgia on October 1 after he illegally entered the country. The politician was imprisoned under a sentence that was passed in absentia to him in the cases of the murder of banker Sandro Girgvliani several years ago. Saakashvili went on hunger strike in prison.
