The government has launched the “Digital economy”

The draft state programme was approved by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The share of foreign software and equipment purchased by the Russian state authorities, should be reduced to 10 and 50%, respectively. At the same time Russia needs to take 10% of the international market of data processing and storage. Such indicators included in the state program “Digital economy” — its a project approved by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to the Chairman of the government, the program consists of five modules that focus on regulatory, education, human resources, formation of research competences and IT infrastructure and cyber security.

Program “Digital economy” was prepared on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

She, in particular, suggests that by 2025, 97% of Russian households must have broadband Internet access (100 Mbps).

By this time all the cities needs to be deployed mobile network 5G. It is also planned that until 2025 in Russia will be the ten companies in the high technology sector and the same number of digital platforms for key sectors of the economy, and the universities will produce more than 100 thousand IT specialists per year.

In addition, Russia must strengthen position in the global market of services on processing and storage of data. Now its share in the global volume of such services — less than 1%. Under the program, by 2024 this figure is expected to grow to 10%. According to the Ministry of communications, the implementation of the program will cost the budget 100 billion rubles annually. The program itself is designed to 2024. By the end of the period of its implementation the share of foreign software and equipment purchased by government agencies, should be reduced to 10 and 50%, respectively.
