In St. Petersburg hosted the Main naval parade
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin took first in the modern history of the country’s Main naval parade. In the competition participated more than five thousand sailors, dozens of warships and units of naval aviation.
St. PETERSBURG, 30 Jul — RIA Novosti. In the Neva river and on the Kronstadt RAID was a parade in honor of Day of the Navy (Navy) of Russia. Was shown fighting ships and submarines, over the skies of St. Petersburg flew the aircraft of the Baltic, North, black sea, Pacific fleets and the Caspian flotilla.

The parade arrived, the flagship of the Northern fleet heavy nuclear missile cruiser “Peter the Great” along with underwater rocket cruiser of strategic appointment “Dmitry Donskoy” is the heaviest submarine in the world. Ships moved from the place of permanent basing in Severomorsk, having the Barents, Norwegian, North and Baltic sea.

Also present at the parade were shown the cruiser “Marshal Ustinov”, the big antisubmarine ship “Vice-Admiral Kulakov”, the frigate “Admiral Makarov” and “Admiral Gorshkov”, the Corvette “Resistant” and “Smart”, large landing ships “Minsk”, “Ivan Gren” and “Alexander Shabalin”, the small anti-submarine ships, minesweepers, missile, amphibious, and anti-sabotage boats. In the parade also participated for the first time Chinese ships — the destroyer “Hefei”, the frigate “Yuncheng” and support vessel “Lomako”, which together with Russian colleagues, conducted in the Baltic exercises “Sea interaction”.
In the aerial part of the parade was presented by the ship’s su-33 and MiG-29K fighters, bombers, coastal aircraft su-24M and coming in to replace them su-30CM, MiG-31BM interceptors, antisubmarine aircraft Il-38 and Tu-142M. Over St. Petersburg also flew the newest Ka-52K “Katran”, the Navy’s Ka-27 and Ka-29 transport-combat Mi-8 and Mi-24VP.
