Saved from drowning in the Baltic sea children the woman from Kaliningrad oblast went into a coma and died in hospital. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to regional Ministry of health.
The office noted that her condition was extremely serious. She died on Friday morning, July 28.
The incident occurred on the evening of 22 July. The woman tried to help two children who were carried away from shore by a strong current. She managed to push them to shore, but she could not swim. The campers pulled it out of the water and gave first aid, after which she was hospitalized.
After the incident, Deputy Plenipotentiary representative of the President in Severo-the Western Federal district Mikhail Vedernikov asked the Prosecutor with a request to check the city beach of Zelenogradsk for compliance with safety regulations. Eyewitnesses reported that rescue towers were empty at the time of the incident.
