Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that in the case of the U.S. adoption of the law on the extension of sanctions against Russia, the decision about response will be made by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the correspondent of “Газеты.Ru”.
“The decision in foreign policy made by the President of the Russian Federation. If and when they are adopted we will let you know” – said Peskov in response to the question about the statement of the member of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.
Peskov also said that the statements of senators and deputies on the subject clear and understandable, since we are talking about hostile manifestations against Russia.
Earlier, the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said that the vote in Congress on new sanctions against Russia said that any normalization of relations between the two countries will be urged to prepare a painful response to new US sanctions.
The house of representatives by an overwhelming majority — 419 three against — voted in support of the law providing, among other things, the existing individual and sectoral U.S. sanctions against Russia.
