Hackers from North Korea focused on stealing money at the expense of espionage

Moscow. July 28. INTERFAX.RU Hackers from the DPRK in recent years have shifted from gaining access to classified military and government data in other countries for stealing money, the report said the South Korean Institute for financial security.

Experts say that North Korean hackers are behind the attempts of cyber attacks on the computers of financial institutions in South Korea and in other countries around the world.

For example, the hacker group from North Korea Lazarus suspected major cyber attack on the Central Bank of Bangladesh in 2016 and on the servers of Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2014.

Another North Korean group Andariel is probably involved in attempts to steal data Bank cards via cyber-attacks on ATMs. It is noted that with the help of special programs hackers withdrawing substantial amounts of cash. These same hackers used malware to hacking sites online gambling and stole cash.

According to experts, Andariel is probably valid from may 2016 and at the same time uses a similar method to that of Lazarus.

Hacker group Lazarus, in particular, is suspected of organizing a large-scale cyber attacks this year with the help of the virus WannaCry on computers in more than 150 countries.
