Us senators agreed on a bill on sanctions against Russia
The sanctions also affect Iran and North Korea.
Moscow. July 27. INTERFAX.RU — the U.S. Senate came to an agreement on the issue of sanctions against Russia, Iran and the DPRK and is ready to submit it to the President for signature, said the head of the Senate foreign relations Committee Bob Corker.
“I am pleased to report that we came to the agreement that will allow us to put a bill on the President’s Desk” — he said to journalists.
Earlier a bill tightening sanctions against the three countries was approved by the house of representatives. Some problems with the approval of the Senate was caused by the fact that the original version of the document prepared by the Senate in June, there were no provisions related to North Korea, they were added by the house of representatives.
As expected, the Senate will vote on the bill soon, after which it will be sent to the President for signature.
Observers note that trump annoyed by the fact that the bill made provision that denied the President the right to lift the sanctions without obtaining the consent of Congress. Earlier, the press Secretary of the White house stated that trump was examining the bill, the decision on the signing, he will take after the document will pass both houses of Congress.
