U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said he was not going to leave his post. His words on Wednesday, June 26, to the Agency Reuters.
“I’m not going anywhere. I will continue to perform their duties until the President allows me to do it,” said Tillerson to reporters in response to a request to comment on reports of his possible resignation. The Secretary smiled and added that he has a good relationship with Donald trump.
On Tuesday, July 25, the TV channel CNN, citing sources, reported that Tillerson because of disagreements with the White house may prematurely resign. Later, state Department spokesman Heather Nauert reassured the public, saying that this information is false, and the head of American diplomacy “much work remains to be done”.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin had not received official information about the possible resignation of Secretary of state, “allegations of some media, unfortunately, in recent time, we are unable to qualify as reliable sources and not doing it.”
