The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law on ratification of the Protocol to the agreement between Moscow and Damascus on the placement of the aviation group of the Russian Armed forces on the territory of Syria. This is the official portal of legal information on Wednesday, July 26.
The provisions of the Protocol relating to the deployment of Russian aviation group, its movable and immovable property, as well as issues relating to its functioning.
According to the document, the agreement will be valid for 49 years. This provides for its automatic renewal for further periods of 25 years if neither party timely notified of the intention to terminate the agreement. In addition, the Protocol establishes that in Syria the Russian transmits to the gratuitous use for the entire term of the agreement and Protocol a land aerodrome Hamim.
Putin submitted to the state Duma the document governing the placement of group of the Russian space forces on the territory of middle East States, 6 July. Eight days later the lower house of Parliament have ratified it.
