The US Senate postpones hearings on the appointment of a new U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Huntsman. On Wednesday, July 26, the newspaper “Izvestia”, citing sources in the Russian diplomatic circles.
According to interlocutors of the edition, if the heads of the diplomatic missions are replaced at the same time, they should take office “almost simultaneously”. Thus, while the huntsman will not be appointed to the post, Russia will not be able to send in the U.S. its Ambassador, Deputy foreign Minister Anatoly Antonov.
The US state Department, the newspaper reported that he does not know the specific timing of the hearings in the Senate.
