Two governments in Libya agreed to a truce

The head of the national consensus government of Libya Faiz Sarraj and the commander of the Libyan national army, field Marshal Khalifa Haftar on the talks in Paris, agreed on a truce, reported on the website of the Elysee Palace.

Negotiations with the representatives of the opposing sides was held by the President of France Emmanuel macron. “In accordance with mezhliviysky political agreement and international treaties to protect the territory and sovereignty of Libya, we pledge to cease fire and to refrain from any use of the armed forces except in cases of combating terrorism,” — said in a communique.

After the overthrow and murder of the founder of the Libyan Jamahiriya of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya a United leadership was formed. Currently the country has two governments: in the East in the city of Tobruk, sits a Parliament elected by people. In the West in Tripoli has set with the support of the UN and Western countries, the national consensus government.
