The US President Donald trump would support the bill on new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea, said White house spokesman Sarah Sanders, reports ABC. She said that the administration supports a tough stance against Russia. Sanders also noted that the original text of the bill was poorly written, but after the changes the us administration has supported this initiative.
On the eve of the U.S. Congress unveiled a bill on sanctions against Russia and Iran, voting on which is scheduled for July 25.The document published on the website of the U.S. Congress.
The U.S. Senate approved the text of the bill on June 15. It is proposed to reduce the maximum term of market financing of Russian banks under sanctions, up to two weeks, and the company’s oil and gas sector — up to 30 days.
It also stipulates that the head of the White house has the right to impose sanctions on individuals who want to invest in the construction of Russian export pipelines over $5 million per year or $1 million lump sum. Restrictive measures can also be imposed on persons who are going to provide to the Russian projects, services, technology, or to provide informational assistance. At the same time, the bill contains a provision stating that the gas pipeline “Nord stream – 2” harms the energy security of the EU and Ukraine, so the U.S. should oppose its construction.
However, the restrictive measures should not affect the two countries ‘ cooperation on space and harming NASA.
Senators from the Republican party said they were going to oppose the unification of the laws on sanctions against Russia and Iran draft sanctions on North Korea.
