The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in his interview to NBC News said that the missile launched by the DPRK on 4 July, was not Intercontinental, and the evidence has been handed over to the Pentagon on the day of the meeting of the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States in Hamburg.

“I heard the voices of the enthusiasts in the United States, including members of the administration who have said that patience was over, the threat continues to grow, an Intercontinental missile was launched”, – TASS quotes Lavrov’s words regarding the North Korean problem.

The diplomat added that according to Russian data, the type of a rocket was not an Intercontinental, and on the day of the meeting of Putin and trump in Hamburg “our military gave the Pentagon the data from our radars, which are located right at the border with North Korea”. However, according to him, the Americans said it was “wrong calculations”.

However, the Russian foreign Minister reminded that Moscow has consistently supported all resolutions of the UN security Council to freeze the DPRK’s nuclear programme, which was originally meant sanctions against individuals associated with the development or financing of the nuclear program. “When the table was based on proposals to almost strangle the North Korean economy, prohibiting all exports from the country and import into the country, forbidding any contact with the North Korean leadership, we cannot support such approach”, – said Lavrov.
