A British traveler going to swim to the North pole on the yacht
MOSCOW, 23 Jul — RIA Novosti. Famous British Explorer Pen, Hadow intends to go all the way to the North pole on the boat to attract attention to the problems of climate change and melting ice in the Arctic, writes the Sunday Times.
The famous polar Explorer, single-handedly conquered the North pole in 2003.
The expedition lasted 850 hours (about two months), of which 30-50 traveler hours spent in the water, swim by wading through the cracks in the Arctic ice, the newspaper said.
“If we really reach the North pole under water, I think this event will remain a landmark until the end of the century will be the signal for action,” said Hadow.
In the new expedition will be attended by nine people. The team will hit the road on two yachts. The total length of the route — from the city of Nome in Alaska to the North pole and back — will be more than 5.6 thousand kilometers. The researchers expect to reach the pole in mid-August — early September.
