The President of Russia Vladimir Putin does not intend to change the country’s Constitution because of the election of the President. He told about it in conversation with the students of the educational center “Sirius”. The stream of “adult conversation” is NTV on Friday, July 21.
“I had, I even begged at the time to change the Constitution. I didn’t do it”, — Putin said. He stressed that “I do not intend to in the future.”
The President also recalled that the basic law sets the term of the highest office. According to article 81 of the Russian Constitution, the President is elected by the citizens for six years, with one and the same person may not hold office more than two consecutive terms.
Prior to that, Putin admitted that he had not decided whether to run for another presidential term.
