MOSCOW, July 19. /TASS/. The Russian foreign Ministry has criticized the action of the Lithuanian Internet users who left negative reviews on the pages of the office under the hashtag #Criminalsearches. Review appeared Tuesday on the official website of the Ministry in Facebook.
“Adjustment of the historical events under fictitious current nationalist elite mythology about “forest brothers” are engaged primarily in Lithuania. The goal is clear: to edit out from the history of the ugly fact that in 1944-1952 some Lithuanians (outright murderers and terrorists, calling themselves the “forest brothers”) with the animal in a frenzy, sparing neither children nor old men, slaughtered on farms other Lithuanians of their own countrymen, who only wanted a quiet peaceful life in the USSR,” – said the Russian foreign Ministry.
The foreign Ministry thanked initiated action “propagandist”, the Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas that attracted the Lithuanian audience to the pages of the Ministry. The Agency promised to acquaint new readers with the evidence of the crimes of the “forest brothers”.
In Lithuania’s armed resistance to the Soviet regime continued until the early 50-ies. As stated in the official sources of the Republic, “the last Lithuanian partisan” Antanas, Kraujalis died in 1965.
Earlier, the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova recalled that as a result of the sabotage of the “forest brothers”, an organization in which the Baltic States were included including SS officers, killed thousands of civilians. Zakharov stressed that until the mid-1950s years were Western intelligence agencies, NATO known.
