Media: a number of U.S. companies urged to revise the draft of sanctions against Russia
MOSCOW, July 20 — RIA Novosti. The number of American companies have advocated changing the bill on new US sanctions against Russia, which could have a negative impact on American business, informs television channel CNN, citing sources in Congress.
Among those who made such an initiative, includes oil and energy giants BP, Exxon and General Electric, aerospace company Boeing, banking conglomerates such as Citigroup, Mastercard and Visa, as well as manufacturers of Ford, Dow Chemical, Procter & Gamble, International Paper, Caterpillar and Cummins.
According to the channel, the entrepreneurs noted that the new sanctions may have unintended consequences that will significantly damage their business.
However, they do not advocate a complete rejection of the bill. Members of trade associations and lobbyists representing the interests of American business, is currently meeting with representatives to discuss possible amendments to the draft, adds the channel.
