The official noted that such measures had decided to go due to the increase in the life expectancy of citizens of the United Kingdom. The government explained that the new measures would save 74 billion pounds to 2045-2046 year.
To raise the retirement age was planned to 2044-m, but later it was decided to move to the new rules seven years earlier. This change will affect those born between 6 April 1970 and 5 April 1978.
Currently, the British retire at the age of 67 years.
