In the state Duma introduced a bill toughening penalties for the recruitment of terrorists
MOSCOW, July 20 — RIA Novosti. The first Deputy Chairman of the faction “United Russia”, Adalbi Shhagoshev in the Duma introduced a bill toughening the punishment for terrorist recruitment — up to life imprisonment.
The relevant amendments are proposed to article 205.1 of the criminal code.
As noted in the explanatory Memorandum, the bill aims to strengthen the fight against the recruitment or other involvement of a person in the organisation and financing of terrorist crimes, extremist and terrorist activities in General.
“The necessity of implementation of legislative initiatives due to the fact that terrorism has become a very profitable business on a global scale with a developed “market of labor” and capital, with its rules and morals, are not compatible with any universal human and democratic values,” — said the author of the initiative in the explanatory Memorandum, which is available to RIA Novosti.
