Speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has offered Armenia to consolidate the Russian language as official in order for its citizens was subject to a law allowing the citizens of Kyrgyzstan associated with driving work in Russia without a Russian driver’s license.
On Monday, the walls of the state Duma Volodin held a meeting with Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Ara Babloyan a, in which Babloyan raised the question of what is passed by the lower house of Parliament last week, a law allowing the Kyrgyz to operate in the Russian transport on national rights that “leaves behind the citizens of Armenia”.
“Decisions you are talking about, we adopted, apply to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus, as the rules of the road the citizens of these two countries studied in the Russian language. And coming to us to work in Russia… of course they know the rules, including in the work of helping them and knowledge of the Russian language”, — said Volodin during a meeting with delegation of Armenia.
“Secure it (Russian language edition) as an official, and then the rule of law will cover automatically and the Republic of Armenia”, — said the speaker of the state Duma of the Russian Federation.
Volodin also said that in this case the decision was made based on safety issues rather than economic component.
“The security issues in the first place, passengers and road traffic, the question here in this plane, not a question in the economic sphere”, — he explained.
The state Duma on 14 July passed in the third and final reading a bill allowing the citizens of Kyrgyzstan to work in Russia associated with the management of transport, while not having the Russian driving license. Also, this rule will apply to citizens of States whose legislation stipulates the use of the Russian language as an official language.
