The Malopolska charged with fraud in especially large scale, committed in a group of persons (part 4 article 159 of the criminal code).
According to investigators, being the General producer of Studio seven, which is founded by the artistic Director of “Gogol-center” Kirill Serebrennikov, Malopolski in 2012 entered into a conspiracy to steal the funds allocated for cultural projects. One of these projects, according to the UK was the play “Midsummer night’s Dream”. The amount of damage, according to investigative sources, is more than 2.3 million rubles.
Lawyer Malopolska Julia Lakhova said that he considers the arrest of her client is illegal and unjustified.
