Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated that he supports the idea of a “Marshall plan” to accelerate the development of the country, reports “Interfax”.
“This is a very good idea. We practiced it in the first government [Arseniy] Yatsenyuk with our European partners, but somehow it did not take place”, — Groysman told the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
According to him, “this is a very acceptable”. “The European people’s party included this in their programme goals. I wish it was implemented”, — stressed the head of government.
Groisman noted that this is primarily about supporting more rapid development of Ukraine.
President Petro Poroshenko on the results of the working visit to Malta, which he did on March 29-30 at the invitation of the President of the European people’s party Joseph Share, has said that it expects partners in Europe development of a “Marshall plan for Ukraine”.
Poroshenko noted that the EPP adopted a resolution on the formation of a long-term plan for support of his country. “Look forward to further steps of European partners on the implementation of the idea of creating a “Marshall plan for Ukraine” and be ready to discuss this issue during any further contacts with the leaders of the institutions and member States of the EU,” the President said.
“The Marshall plan” (the official name European Recovery Program, the “European recovery Program”) — program of aid to Europe after world war II. He was promoted in 1947, the U.S. Secretary of state George Marshall.
