A second suspect in the murder of Russian tourists in Abkhazia surrendered to the authorities
The first suspect was arrested on the second day after the crime.
SUKHUM, July 16. /TASS/. A second suspect in an armed assault on Russian tourists and the murder of one of them — Andrey Kabanova — July 11 in the Gudauta district on Sunday night surrendered to the state security service of Abkhazia. TASS said the interior Ministry of the Republic. The first suspect was arrested on the second day after the crime — 12 July.
“A second suspect in the offence in respect of which July 12 and conducted operational activities aimed at the establishment of location and detention, today was forced to surrender to the state security service of Abkhazia. July 12, a resident of Gudauta district, who is suspected of committing crimes against tourists. It contains in a temporary detention facility of the interior Ministry”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
July 11, in the Gudauta district, two masked men, armed with guns and a knife, attacked a group of tourists — four adults and four children from Moscow. In the result, the ensuing fight, the head of the family Kabanovich received stab wounds, due died. The investigation is Prosecutor’s office of the Gudauta district. A criminal case on this fact opened the Investigative Committee of Russia.
