Encouraging signals from NATO to the Kiev contribute to the preservation of the current position of the Ukrainian authorities and the continuation of the deadlock on the situation in the Donbass, said Russia’s envoy to NATO Alexander Grushko.
Speaking after a meeting of the Council Russia — NATO at the level of permanent representatives, Grushko said that the representatives of the Alliance, “verbal speaking in favor of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, no specific measures to encourage the Kiev authorities to fulfill the Minsk agreements, did not take”.
“There is a danger that the actions you are taking today NATO countries to Ukraine, promotion program, incentive signals essentially aim to encourage official authorities to preserve the current position and the impasse in the situation in the Donbass”, — said the permanent representative of the Russian Federation.
According to him, in this sense, NATO’s position is contrary to the interests of a lasting solution to the crisis in Ukraine by political and diplomatic means on the basis of full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
