Russia has extended the recruitment in the cosmonaut detachment
The acceptance of applications was supposed to end July 14.
MOSCOW, July 13. /TASS/. The state Corporation “Roskosmos” and the cosmonaut training Center has decided to extend the selection of candidates for membership in the cosmonaut corps. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, received by Thursday, TASS reported.
“Having considered the submitted applications, the experts of Roscosmos made a decision that to implement ambitious tasks and development of new rocket and space technology, cosmonauts it is necessary to increase the number of young people who have engineering, technical and scientific competences”, — stated in the message.
Accepting applications had to end on 14 July, three months after the announcement of recruitment in the cosmonaut detachment.
What is the extended set is not specified.
It was reported that the cosmonaut training Center received about 300 applications and documents from applicants.
