Members of the Democratic party in the house of representatives of the United States Congress introduced a new version of the bill, including new unilateral sanctions against Russia and Iran. On Thursday, July 13, according to Reuters.
Co-authors of the document were made by the leader of the democratic faction in the lower house of Congress, Nancy Pelosi, her Deputy Steni Hoyer and Deputy Chairman of the foreign Affairs Committee Eliot Engel.
Reuters writes that the bill is identical to that a month ago was supported by the Senate. The authors want to gain the support of representatives of the Republican party.
The white house earlier demanded amendments to the document as the current version is too risky for American foreign policy. A White house spokesman Sarah Sanders stated that in the existing configuration the bill unacceptable.

In the event of approval, American companies and individuals will not be allowed to lend to Russian banks for longer than 14 days. It is also proposed to limit the terms of financing of Russian oil and gas companies. The document also limits the President’s authority to lift sanctions.
