The Vatican has put on trial two former senior employees of children’s hospital. About it reports Reuters.
Giuseppe Profiti and Massimo Back, which previously held the positions of President and Treasurer of the hospital Bambino Gesù in Rome, accused of misuse of funds.
According to the investigation, in 2013-2014 they spent 422 thousand Euro from the hospital Fund for the repair of apartments of the Vatican, cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.
Bertone is an Italian cardinal who served as Secretary of state of the Holy see 15 September 2006 to 15 October 2013. The cardinal is considered a creature of the former Pope Benedict XVI. During the 13 days since the resignation of the Pope and before the election of Pope Francis — was head of the Vatican.
