Collected by Neil Armstrong lunar dust to auction
At Sotheby’s auction in new York sell moon dust that was collected by astronaut Neil Armstrong during the first moon landing. About it writes The Guardian.
The organizers expect to gain for a small bag of dust and small stones from two to four million dollars.
Also at the auction, dedicated to the 48th anniversary of the first moon landing, there will be some items related to space flight. Among them the report of Yuri Gagarin in English for 50 thousand dollars, ten-inch figure of a dog “Snoopy” in the suit for two thousand and many other artifacts.
During the mission of Apollo 11, the Americans on 20 July 1969 first landed on the moon. All the astronauts did it six times. Last — in December 1972 (during the Apollo 17 mission).
