The differences between liberals and conservatives
Canadian and American scientists have found the reason why the supporters of liberal and conservative views can’t come to a common point of view. A study published in the journal Analyses of Social Issues and Public Policy.
“A cultural war led to a stalemate in part because each side believes some questions are inviolable, while other problems believed suitable for revision in the name of justice,” say the authors.
Experts have analyzed the attitude of liberals and Democrats to two popular U.S. social and political issues — legitimization of same-sex marriage and the construction of the pipeline “keystone”.
Supporters of the liberal support of same-sex marriage, based on the priority of principles of justice and equality, while conservatives are opposed to legal registration of unions of gays and lesbians because of “the sanctity of traditional marriage.”
In turn, supporters of the liberal, generally opposed the construction of the “Keystone”, believing that the ecosystem of the Earth should remain unchanged, whereas the conservatives believed the construction of the pipeline is necessary because it will allow you to seek justice (economic and political).
The study authors noted that liberals and conservatives bring spiritual issues to moral problems, but as guidelines for their position using different principles.
