Department of EMERCOM of Russia in Moscow warned about coming to the capital, heavy rain and thunderstorms. On Sunday, July 9, reported on the Agency’s website.
“According to forecasters (Roshydromet) in the next hour to the night 09 July and 10 July in the city of Moscow is expected in places strong rain, storm, with thunder wind with gusts of 12-17 meters per second,” — said in a statement.
Rescuers advised pedestrians to avoid the billboards and shaky structure, not to hide under trees. Motorists are advised to leave cars in the garage or away from trees.
On 6 July the Director of the hydrometeorological Roman Vilfand said that in the second half of the summer residents of Central Russia are waiting for tornadoes, thunderstorms and heavy rain. The “vertical vortex structures — the tornadoes — we are extremely rare, but, unfortunately, there are. I wouldn’t have to exclude them in the near future,” he said. The head of the hydrometeorological center said that many natural disasters are impossible to predict in advance.
