Trump promised to “somehow” solve the nuclear and missile issue of the DPRK

The US President Donald trump said that the issue of nuclear and missile programs will be resolved “one way or another”. He told about it during the dialogue with President XI Jinping, reports Reuters on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg.

“It may take more time than I’d like, but in the end one way or another it will be a success,” said trump, adding that he highly appreciated the actions of Beijing in terms of “the extremely significant problem in the face of North Korea, which have something to do.” Trump urged the Chinese leader to use economic levers to put pressure on Pyongyang.

US urges North Korea cease nuclear and missile launches. In particular, Washington warned about the readiness to launch a preemptive strike on North Korean military targets if Pyongyang decides on yet another nuclear test. In response, the DPRK said that in this case will cause a pre-emptive strike.

On 7 July the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that to resolve the situation on the Korean Peninsula it is necessary to act pragmatically and carefully. The day before, trump has threatened North Korea with tough measures in response to the test of an Intercontinental ballistic missile

On 4 July, Moscow and Beijing issued a joint statement, in which he proposed the DPRK to declare a moratorium on nuclear tests and missile launches, and South Korea and the United States to refrain from conducting large-scale military exercises. This happened after reports of North Korean authorities about the successful test of a new Intercontinental ballistic missile.
