Traffic on Tverskaya street in Moscow, opened to motorists early
Traffic was blocked from 00:01 GMT on 8 July and was supposed to resume in the night from 9 to 10 July.
MOSCOW, July 9. /TASS/. Work on laying conduit within the framework of the program “My street” on a plot of Tverskaya from Pushkinskaya square to Mayakovskaya completed ahead of schedule. This was announced on Sunday by the Deputy mayor for housing and Peter Biryukov.
The final stage of laying of cable communications on this site was planned for two days. Movement of vehicles was blocked from 00:01 GMT on 8 July and was supposed to resume in the night from 9 to 10 July.
“The completion of the work on laying of cable communications on the land plot of Tverskaya street from Pushkin to Mayakovsky square, carried out in a shorter time, to minimize inconvenience for Muscovites,” — said Biryukov.
He noted that work has been involved with nearly 600 employees of the complex of municipal economy of Moscow and about 250 pieces of equipment.
According to the Deputy mayor, the overlap of Tver was necessary to join pipes of the conduit that pass along the street on each side. The work was carried out simultaneously on the whole area from Pushkin to Mayakovsky.
With the help of road cutters cut the old asphalt, demolished the concrete base of the road. This was followed by trenching for connection of cable ducts. “Only laid about three miles of pipes for cable ducts and installed eight wells for air and cable lines,” — said Biryukov. This was followed by laying a temporary asphalt pavement, repair of asphalt will be held later.
