The leaders of three countries — Russia, France and Germany at the G20 summit in Hamburg noted serious slippage in the implementation of the provisions of the Minsk agreements. According to Peskov, the Russian leader has amply brought Moscow’s position on the situation in Ukraine to Merkel and Macron. “In this case, of course, the President, as always, concisely, but exhaustively brought to the interlocutors, the position of the Russian Federation”, — said Putin’s press Secretary.
He stressed that all three leaders agreed on the need for the telephone conversation in “Normandy” format (with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko).
“There is an understanding that we must take effective measures that would lead to a real ceasefire on the line of contact and to ensure that after the withdrawal of heavy weapons in the Donbass”, — said Peskov.
Earlier it was reported that on Saturday, Putin, Merkel and macron in Hamburg discussed the situation in Ukraine and ways of its settlement. The three leaders reaffirmed the importance of adhering to the ceasefire in the East of Ukraine.
