Opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is serving an administrative arrest, was released. This was announced on his Twitter page on Friday, July 7, press Secretary for policy Kira Armys.

Navalny was serving a sentence for organizing not coordinated with the authorities actions on Tverskaya street on June 12. Simonovsky court of the capital first appointed him to 30 days in custody, but later the sentence was reduced by the Moscow city court to 25 days.
On the night of June 12, Navalny urged his supporters to go out on Tverskaya, a part of which has been blocked off and made pedestrian for holding of festive events dedicated to the Day of Russia. Initially, the opposition rally was to be held in consistent with the authorities place on Sakharov Avenue (in the end there was held a sanctioned rally, which, according to the police, came to 1.8 thousand people). Tverskaya, according to the authorities, was not more than five thousand participants. The politician himself was not involved in the demonstrations, he was arrested on leaving his home.
