Ozerov said the reason for his resignation as head of the defense Committee of the Federation Council
MOSCOW, 6 Jul — RIA Novosti. The Chairman of Committee of Federation Council on defense and security Viktor Ozerov confirmed to RIA Novosti the fact that he wrote a letter of resignation from this post at his own request, citing the need for rotation and its desire to “change the rhythm of life”.
On Thursday, a source in the office of the chamber told RIA Novosti that the lake has written the application at own will. It is expected to be considered at the meeting of the Federation Council on July 12.
“We need to rotate positions in the Federation Council Committee on defense and security, it is also time. Also, I want a change of scenery and pace of life,” — said Ozerov.
He noted that he is thankful to the head of the upper chamber of Parliament Valentina Matvienko that she supported his decision.
“I am grateful to Valentina Ivanovna, which is a lot for me in the political and in human terms — and supported my decision,” said the Senator.
According to him, he remains the Senator from Khabarovsk territory. “I’m staying in the Federation Council and we hope to benefit both the edge and the house,” — said Ozerov.
