The state Duma on July 14 will consider the question of ratification of the Protocol governing the placement of group of the Russian space forces in Syria, said the head of the lower house Committee for international Affairs Leonid Slutsky. His words are in the statement, received by the editors”.ru” on Thursday, July 6.
Slutsky said that the official representative during the consideration of the document in the state Duma appointed Deputy defense Minister of Russia Nikolay Pankov.
Earlier Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the Parliament a Protocol to the agreement between Moscow and Damascus on the placement of the aviation group of the Russian Armed forces on the territory of the middle East state.
The document, signed in January, regulates the placement of the air group, its movable and immovable property, as well as functioning. In it, in particular, says that the external protection of places of deployment of Russian military is carried out by the Syrian side, air defence and internal security — Russia.
“The Syrian side is not allowed actions that impede the functioning of the Russian aviation group”, — stated in the Protocol.
In March last year, Putin took the decision on the withdrawal of the greater part of group videoconferencing in connection with the successful performance of tasks. Russian military pilots began to participate in strikes against the terrorist groups in Syria September 30, 2015, at the request of the official Damascus.
